Looking for someone maybe a little offbeat and quirky, but definitely sensitive, with a passion for any kind of culture and food. I'm a huge Buffy and Angel fan, an incredible politics junkie and a movie buff. I am a 40something human male, who can pass for 35, seeking a woman to fill the position of "girlfriend". The position has been vacant for some time. Many have been interviewed but few can pass the skills tests needed for the demands of the position. Benefits start immediately with vacations after 6-12 months in the position. "Granola girls" need not apply. (Feel free to ask for the definition.) What I am discovering is that most women talk a good game, but cannot, in reality, handle a man who is VERY romantic or very sexual. let alone both. If you cannot walk the talk, feel free to continue browsing now. If you have a low sex drive, do not have a great capacity for affection, are not into kissing for hours and find it a turn-off when your guy calls you just to tell you he misses you, please feel free to choose another profile. If you have young children, or want some, I am not your guy. I am childfree and will stay that way. I have dated women with kids and let's just say that taking a back seat to them doesn't sit well with me. Selfish? A bit. But if you want me, you have to make your #1 priority. And most importantly, if you are ageist (in one year I dated, and loved, both a 20something and a 50something, and generally tend to gravitate to women between 28-38) and cannot conceive of dating a guy my age for whatever reason, do not waste my time explaining why, or telling me why it is "wrong" for me. I will find another who wil accept me as I am and she will reap the rewards of loving me. However, if the idea of just lying in bed (or cuddling in front of a fireplace*) with your guy as he smiles at you in the moonlight and tells you how beautiful you are, or holds you in his arms until you fall asleep, or reads you some poetry he wrote for you, or cooks for you (whether breakfast, lunch or dinner) is appealing, then you owe it to yourself to read on. One of my favourite quotes: "If you are lucky, I will sing for you. If you are REALLY lucky, I will WRITE you a song." If you believe in, and actively seek, attraction and passion, and understand that through emails, then IM, and then phone calls, we will build an attraction BEFORE we meet, and if the chemistry is there, act on it, then take the first step and contact me. EVERYONE who writes, while providing contact information, will receive a response. (It's only fair!) Another motto I live by: "Monogamy must be earned; it must not be negotiated, demanded, or extorted." If you cannot understand that, then we will have a problem...well, that is, YOU will. I have been receiving a LOT of spam lately, so if you have no picture posted and/or live more than 200 km away, don't waste my time writing to me. I am not moving overseas or even to another province to meet someone and if I don't see what you look like I will assume you are fat, ugly, or possibly even a dude. If this is seems harsh, tough. It is honest, if brutally so. (Don't ASK for truth if you can't handle hearing it. Right, Jack?) And the truth is, I would rather have a few selected good matches than sift through dozens of women who cannot read, ignore what they DO read, or are so determined to change me into THEIR idea of the perfect boyfriend that they make us both miserable. I understand that compromise is essential to a healthy relationship but make the assumption that you will not easily (if at all) change the essence of who I am. For the one who does find me, she will soon find out that in my relationships, there is nothing more important than for your beloved to feel wanted, desired, beautiful, sexy, loved and appreciated, and she will never go a day without it. And THAT'S the bottom line. *Whereas we could lay in front of a roaring fire at my place, it would only last a few seconds before we would have to ruish out. I don't have a fireplace!

To put it lightly I get bored really quickly. I need adventure in my life and I'll take it wherever it may come, whether it be portaging through Algonquin or being hunted down by some foreign military for knocking-up their princess. I'm planning on moving to either London or Amsterdam in about a year or so for grad school, unless of course there is someone keeping me here. I love Toronto, it’s my home and will always be but I could use a change for a few years. However, as I always grasp for adventure I need some level of stability as I am an academic. I’m finishing a second business degree at Ryerson. Working as an Research assistant and Im climbing Everest leaving March 26th for Nepal to do some medical and business academic research there. I dont know if I can hack 2 monthes in a sleeping bag but I'll find out. It's also looking like I'm going to be a life student, undergrad, MBA, PhD, blah, blah, blah, but we'll see how it goes. I actually really like school......as odd as that is. I live and work downtown, just next to the Eaton Centre. Love going to art galleries, museums, fashion shows, shopping, lazy sat afternoons sitting on a queen west patio. I make it to the gym a few days a week but I'm really into the whole athletic thing rather body building.......and why cant I find anyone to take a Yoga class with me, everyone wants to and thinks it's a good idea but no one will commit, WTF. I'm career oriented and need someone that has their head together. I'm not a fan of a lot of drama. I need excitement but my lifestyle requires a no drama dating life.
